Marvin Youngerman Has Died

Sarasota, FL, February 6, 2023-Marvin Youngerman, 93, died January 22.

Marvin’s floorcovering career spanned well over 50 years, before he retired as vice president of sales for Columbus Mills.

Marvin was born in Brooklyn, New York, where he took his first sales position with Colonial Distributors.

After learning the craft, he left to join the Monarch Division of Barwick Carpet Mills, covering the New York metro/New Jersey area.

At some point, Marvin decided that he wanted his children to grow up in a better environment than New York City had to offer and accepted a management position with West Point Pepperel/Cabin Craft and moved to Dalton, Georgia.

He was later lured away to Dallas, Texas to become president of Bruce Hardwood.

Marvin missed the soft flooring side of the business and went to Columbus Mills to head up sales until retiring.
