Mark Carlson of American Olean Midwest Has Died

Palatine, IL, July 22, 2026—Mark Carlson, 72, former managing partner of American Olean Midwest, died July 21.

Carlson was with American Olean Midwest from January 1972 to June 2023. He was inducted into the Ceramic Tile Distributors Association (CTDA) in 2008.

“Mark dedicated more than five decades to the tile industry,” says the CTDA. “He spent the majority of his career with Century Tile, one of the Midwest’s premier flooring companies, where he built lifelong relationships and earned the respect of customers, manufacturers, suppliers, and coworkers throughout the Midwest and across the world. He was instrumental in the creation of American Olean Midwest (AOM), where his leadership, vision, and industry expertise helped lay the foundation for the organization’s early success.”
