Mannington Announces Student Winners of Scholarships

Salem, NJ, June 15, 2018-Mannington Mills is a corporate sponsor of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation and underwrites a scholarship for children of its associates. This year, Mannington-sponsored scholarships have been awarded to two graduating seniors, Keera McDonald and Katherine Morgan.

McDonald, a National Merit Scholarship Corporation finalist from Sharpsburg, Georgia, will be continuing her studies at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is a graduate of Heritage School in Newnan, Georgia, and is the daughter of Mannington associate Michael McDonald and his wife, Wei McDonald.

Morgan, the recipient of a Mannington Mills Special Scholarship, resides in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be studying physical therapy at Indiana University, Bloomington. She is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and is the daughter of Mannington associate Scott Morgan and his wife, Carey Morgan.

Since becoming a National Merit Scholarship Corporation sponsor in 2014, Mannington has awarded eight scholarships. Recipients have attended such prestigious institutions as Stanford University, The College of William and Mary, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of California at Berkeley, University of Georgia; and now Duke University and Indiana University Bloomington. There, students have pursued majors across an impressive spectrum of academic disciplines, ranging from physics, aeronautical engineering and natural resource management to physical therapy and international relations.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation, a privately funded, not-for-profit organization, has awarded college scholarships to thousands of top-performing students across the U.S. since 1955. Mannington sponsored scholarships are for $1,000 per year, for a total of $4,000 toward an undergraduate degree.
