Leichsenring Wins NTCA Best Practices Award

Jackson, MS, October 12, 2006--Davis Leichsenring of Holland Tile, Rockville, Md., is the latest recipient of the NTCA Best Practices Award for Membership Service, given to an individual who goes above and beyond the call of duty to promote education and National Tile Contractors Association (NTCA) membership in his or her region. Leichsenring received the award at a ceremony during NTCA’s Total Solutions conference at the Las Vegas Hilton here. As a NTCA Region 3 director, Leichsenring has embarked upon the creation of quarterly meetings in his region, featuring top speakers, presenters, topics and programs and often signing up new NTCA members. He’s developed a newsletter that promotes all NTCA programs and services, including Coverings and Total Solutions and local programming. In addition, he has partnered with distributors and manufacturing representatives to bring education to his region. “I am honored and thankful that this community found my small contribution deserving such a public recognition,” Leichsenring said. “It has been an incredible journey to come to a foreign country with less than $20 in my pocket, no job and no language skills, and 15 years later to become a citizen, have a beautiful family, enjoy wonderful friends and network with the best professionals in the field.” Originally from Brazil, Leichsenring began his business in 1998 and joined NTCA in 2001. “NTCA and the tile industry at large is a big part of my life,” he added. “It gives me a channel to serve, a mission to carry, and friends to enjoy.”
