Labor Productivity Declined 1.5% in Q1

Washington, DC, June 5, 2025-Nonfarm business sector labor productivity decreased 1.5% in Q1 2025, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported, as output decreased 0.2% and hours worked increased 1.3%. 

This is the first decline in nonfarm business sector labor productivity since Q2 2022. From the same quarter a year ago, nonfarm business sector labor productivity increased 1.3% in Q1 2025.
