Job Openings Rose to 10.7 Million in September

Washington, DC, November 1, 2022-The number of job openings increased to 10.7 million on the last business day of September, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. 

The number of hires edged down to 6.1 million, while total separations decreased to 5.7 million. Within separations, quits (4.1 million) changed little and layoffs and discharges (1.3 million) edged down.
