Interface Participating in UN Climate Change Conference

Atlanta, GA, November 9, 2021-Interface will participate in the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, or COP26, in Glasgow, Scotland. Interface chief sustainability officer Erin Meezan will take part in panels, providing insights on the company’s efforts to deeply reduce its footprint in line with its goal to become a carbon negative enterprise by 2040.

During COP26, Meezan will offer a roadmap for others looking to establish their own carbon reduction initiatives based on the progress Interface has made over nearly three decades. She will also share insights on setting ambitious goals, how to drive business action through science-based targets, and how to realize the potential of carbon negative products through innovative manufacturing advancements and new bio-based materials.

The 26th annual summit is especially critical as its marks the five-year anniversary of 196 countries committing to the Paris Agreement. As the countries committed to the Agreement unveil updated reduction targets, it is critical for organizations and companies to work in tandem to reduce their emissions-especially as the business sector is the single largest producer of GHG emissions.
