INSTALL Instructor Jack Dean Has Died

Glassboro, NJ, September 7, 2021-Jack Dean, floorcovering instructor for INSTALL Pittsburgh, died September 5 after a battle with ALS. 

Says INSTALL of Dean, “Jack Dean was one of the many that helped create INSTALL, the International Standards and Training Alliance. With his experience as an installer, then instructor, Jack helped other installers, instructors, manufacturers, specifiers and customers of floorcovering. He was recognized and sought after to help with setting technical standards. He served on the INSTALL Curriculum Committee, helped develop INSTALL certifications and the BRS-IICRC S600 Standards for Carpet Installation. At one time, Jack was recognized as the Champion Resilient Floor Coverer in the USA.”

In May 2020, members of Dean’s union, Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, volunteered their time to build Dean a wheelchair ramp at his home.
