Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 3,000 in Week Ending November 2

Washington, DC, November 7, 2024-In the week ending November 2, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 221,000, an increase of 3,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 216,000 to 218,000. The four-week moving average was 227,250, a decrease of 9,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 236,500 to 237,000.
