Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 19K to 200K in Last Week of April

Washington, DC, May 5, 2022-In the week ending April 30, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 200,000, an increase of 19,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 180,000 to 181,000. The four-week moving average was 188,000, an increase of 8,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 179,750 to 180,000.
