Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 11,000 in Week Ending February 1

Washington, DC, February 6, 2025-In the week ending February 1, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 219,000, an increase of 11,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 207,000 to 208,000. The four-week moving average was 216,750, an increase of 4,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 212,500 to 212,750.
