Initial Jobless Claims Rose 18K to 185,000 in Week Ending April 9

Washington, DC, April 14, 2022-In the week ending April 9, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 185,000, an increase of 18,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 166,000 to 167,000. The four-week moving average was 172,250, an increase of 2,000 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 170,000 to 170,250.
