Initial Jobless Claims Rose by 5,000 in Week Ending April 15

Washington, DC, April 20, 2023-In the week ending April 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 245,000, an increase of 5,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 239,000 to 240,000. The four-week moving average was 239,750, a decrease of 500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 240,000 to 240,250.
