Initial Jobless Claims Fell by 23K to 238,000 in the Last Week of Jan.

Washington, DC, February 3, 2022-In the week ending January 29, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 238,000, a decrease of 23,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 260,000 to 261,000. The four-week moving average was 255,000, an increase of 7,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 247,000 to 247,250.
