Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 7,000 in Week Ending August 10

Washington, DC, August 15, 2024-In the week ending August 10, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 227,000, a decrease of 7,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 1,000 from 233,000 to 234,000. The four-week moving average was 236,500, a decrease of 4,500 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 250 from 240,750 to 241,000.
