Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 22,000 in Week Ending Dec. 14

Washington, DC, December 19, 2024-In the week ending December 14, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 220,000, a decrease of 22,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 242,000, according to the Department of Labor. 

The four-week moving average was 225,500, an increase of 1,250 from the previous week's unrevised average of 224,250.
