Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 19,000 in Week Ending October 12
Washington, DC, October 17, 2024-In the week ending October 12, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 241,000, a decrease of 19,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor.
The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 258,000 to 260,000. The four-week moving average was 236,250, an increase of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 231,000 to 231,500.
