Initial Jobless Claims Declined by 18,000 in Week Ending Dec. 30

Washington, DC, January 4, 2024-In the week ending December 30, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 202,000, a decrease of 18,000 from the previous week's revised level, according to the Department of Labor. 

The previous week's level was revised up by 2,000 from 218,000 to 220,000. The four-week moving average was 207,750, a decrease of 4,750 from the previous week's revised average. The previous week's average was revised up by 500 from 212,000 to 212,500.
