IICRC Elects Exec Committee

Vancouver, WA, Nov. 4--The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) elected its 2003 executive committee during its board of directors' meeting on October 20. The annual election, which took place in Portland, Oregon, reinstated four of the five existing executive committee members. The new committee positions were effective on October 22. The executive committee for the upcoming year includes: chairman of the board, Lee Zimmerman; vice-chairmen, Carey Vermeulen and Ruth Travis; secretary, Eileen Barkstedt; and treasurer, Darrell Paulson. The established committee offers a wealth of experience and dedication to the organization and its registrants. Lee Zimmerman is owner of Keystone Cleaning and has been in the cleaning and restoration industry for over 24 years. He has been active in the IICRC since 1992 and holds the designations of IICRC master cleaning technician, master restoration technician and senior carpet inspector. Carey Vermeulen, vice-chairman, is a 20 year veteran of the cleaning and restoration industry. He is president of Glenncarey Carpet Cleaning, vice president of Glenncarey Contractors Ltd., vice president of Glenncarey Custom Upholstery of Toronto, Canada and is an IICRC master cleaner and master restorer. Ruth Travis, vice-chairman, has been active in the cleaning and restoration industry since 1989 and with the IICRC since 1993. She is a master cleaning technician, a master restoration technician, a senior carpet inspector and an independent IICRC-approved instructor through her business, RL Seminars. Eileen Barkstedt, secretary, participates actively with the IICRC as a member of the budget committee, senior carpet inspector committee and upholstery cleaning technical advisory committee. Her business is Elite Consultants and she is an IICRC master cleaner and senior carpet inspector. Darrell Paulson, treasurer, serves as a consultant to companies in the cleaning and restoration industry and is an expert in water damage restoration through his business, Advanced Restoration. Having served on the board for many years, Paulson is an IICRC master cleaner and inspector.
