IFI Names New Executive Board Members

New York, NY, March 11, 2020-A new board of representatives for the global Interior architecture/design community from Australia, Brazil, China, Estonia, Mexico, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa and Turkey were elected by members of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) on the occasion of the 29th IFI General Assembly, IFI’s biennial gathering of international members. 

These distinguished design leaders will collectively represent the interiors profession at the world level during this board term.

The 2020-2021 IFI executive board includes the IFI president Titi Ogufere, founder and editor of Essential Interiors Magazine (Nigeria), and Carlos Eduardo (Cadu) Scheliga, founder and director of Questtonó (Brazil) as IFI president-elect. Steve Leung, IFI president 2017 to 2020 and founder of Steve Leung Design Group (China) remains on the IFI executive board as IFI past president.

Joining as IFI executive board members are Suzie Attiwill, Ph.D., associate professor, associate dean, interior design, School of Architecture and Urban Design, RMIT University (Australia); Michael Cruz Pizarro, IDr., founder/ principal interior designer, Michael Pizarro Interior Design (Philippines); Victoria Plasencia, founder, VP Interiorismo, Guadalajara (Mexico); Sezin Hatice Tanrıöver, Ph.D., associate professor and chair department of interior architecture and environmental design, Bahcesehir University, Istanbul Architecture (Turkey); and Urmo Vaikla, founder and partner of Vaikla Studio (Estonia).

Co-opted expert members include Kamy Abrarpour, founder, by Kamy, (Brazil); and Zakkiya Khan, lecturer of interior architecture, department of architecture, University of Pretoria (South Africa).
