Home Depot Sales Rose 9.8% in Q3, Earnings Up 20.3%

Atlanta, GA, November 16, 2021-The Home Depot reported sales of $36.8 billion for Q3 2021, an increase of 9.8% from Q3 2020’s $33.5 billion. Comparable sales for Q3 2021 increased 6.1%, and comparable sales in the U.S. increased 5.5%.

Net earnings for Q3 2021 were $4.1 billion, a 20.3% increase compared with net earnings of $3.4 billion in the same period of 2020. 

For the first nine months of 2021, net sales were $115.4 billion, a 15.6% increase compared to the first nine months of 2020’s $99.8 billion. 

Net earnings for the first nine months of 2021 were $13.1, a 30.7% increase compared to the first nine months of 2020’s $10.0 billion. 

At the end of the third quarter, the company operated a total of 2,317 retail stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, ten Canadian provinces and Mexico, including 14 stores from a small acquisition completed during the second quarter of fiscal 2021.

According to the Floor Focus' retail survey, published in the November 2021 issue, Home Depot is the largest flooring retailer in the U.S. with an estimated $8.9 billion in sales.
