Former Armstrong Exec Humphrey Named CEO At Anders

Bayport, MN, Sept. 2--Andersen Corporation announced today that James E. Humphrey has been named chief executive officer, in addition to his current role as president, effective September 1. Humphrey, who was named the ninth president in the company's history in December 2002, joined Andersen in April 1999. "I joined Andersen because it is one of the most respected names in the building materials industry. Andersen is a company with a tremendous history of leadership and innovation, and it's a company that lives by its values," Humphrey said. Prior to joining Andersen, Humphrey had a long career at Armstrong World Industries, where he started as a marketing representative in 1968. Humphrey retired from Armstrong in 1999 as president of Floor Products Americas, where he was responsible for leading the company's largest business, with operations in the U.S., Canada and South America. Humphrey serves on the board of Andersen Corporation; The Bayport Foundation of the Andersen Corporation; the Regions Hospital Foundation; and Courage Center. Donald L. Garofalo, who previously held the position of chief executive officer, will continue to serve Andersen as vice chair of the board of directors.
