Milwaukee, WI, August 9, 2006--A Milwaukee trucking firm that focuses on transporting tile, carpet and other flooring materials received financing approval Tuesday for a planned expansion on the city's northwest side.
Surfaces Transport Inc., will receive a $400,000 loan from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp., a city-affiliated business loan agency, to help finance the purchase and renovation of a former bowling alley, at 7320-7400 W. Florist Ave., into warehouse space. The $1,375,000 project also is being financed by M&I Bank.
Surfaces Transport is based at 6066 N. 76th St., adjacent to the Florist Ave. property. The company, with 62 full-time and five part-time employees, plans to add 18 full-time and two part-time employees through the expansion, according to the loan agency.
