Flooring Industry Veteran Jim Waskin Has Died
Chattanooga, TN, April 3, 2024-Jim Waskin, age 82, a 57-year veteran of the flooring business, died March 30.
Waskin attended DePaul University before entering the carpet industry in distributor sales for Walter E. Selck Chicagoland in 1965. He became Chicagoland territory manager for World Carpets in 1979, regional vice president in 1982 and, finally, eastern vice president for World from 1995 to 1999 when World was sold to Mohawk.
Waskin then joined Beaulieu of America as senior vice president Eastern division of Beaulieu from 1999 to 2016 and headed sales from 2016 to 2017.
He continued working in the flooring industry until about a year ago.
