Fire at Mohawk's IVC Resilient Plant in Dalton Contained to Roof

Dalton, GA, January 3, 2024-A fire broke out a Mohawk IVC resilient plant in Dalton, Georgia the evening of January 2.

The fire was contained to the roof, with no water damage to the equipment or the building, and no one was injured. Images of the fire taken at night looked worse than they ended up being. Production resumed at 11 p.m. Roofing repair crews were at the facility today repairing the damage. 

Mohawk acquired this facility from IVC in 2015 for $1.2 billion. The firm contintued to invest in the facility by adding LVT production capability to the exisiting vinyl sheet operaton. The factory is on the South Connector in Dalton, Georgia.
