Engineered Floors & Mohawk Announce Price Increase

Chattanooga, TN, June 30, 2021-Engineered Floors and Mohawk have announced price increases due to increased raw material, labor and freight costs. 

Engineered Floors will increase prices 6% to 10% on all base-grade residential nylon and PET carpet and on all EF hard surface products. All hard surface products will increase a minimum of $0.10 per square foot; freight rates will increase $10.00 for drop charges; and all residential carpet products will increase $0.05 per square yard. The increase will be effective August 2, and all orders placed prior to August 2 but not shipped by August 14 will be impacted. 

Mohawk will raise prices 6% to 10% on all commodity product for soft surface, hard surface and cushion with a minimum increase of $0.27 per square yard on carpet. There will also be a 6% to 10% increase on select retail styles. In addition, the company will increase freight charges on broadloom and carpet tile a minimum of $0.50 per square yard and hard surface freight drop charges will increase by a minimum of $10.00. These increases will be effective for all orders placed on or after August 2 and shipments on or after August 14. 

This is the third price increase announcement from the firms in 2021.
