Engineered Floors Increasing SAM Plant Capacity by 25%

Dalton, GA, February 11, 2022- An expansion is underway at Engineered Floors' SAM residential carpet plant in Dalton, Georgia. The 2.6 million-square-foot facility is the largest single-site capacity carpet mill in the world, and the expansion will add roughly 25% to its existing capacity.
The plant is the only large scale facility in the industry that starts with polymer chip on one side and ships finished product on the other--all under one roof. Processes include solution dyed fiber extrusion, twisting, heat setting, tufting, coating, finishing and packaging. The facility has over 130 dock doors.
