Unemployment Held Steady at 3.8% in March

Washington, DC, April 5, 2019-Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 196,000 in March, and the unemployment rate was unchanged at 3.8%, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported. 

Notable job gains occurred in healthcare and in professional and technical services.
