DyStar to Acquire Rotta Group

Frankfurt, Germany, November 19--DyStar has signed an agreement to acquire the Rotta Group. Financial details were not disclosed. Rotta produces chemical auxiliaries for the textile, leather and paper industries, serving 1,300 customers in 80 countries. The acquisition includes Rotta's business in Germany and subsidiaries in Brazil, China, France, Italy and Turkey. "Rotta is an established supplier whose products fit well with our portfolio," said Dr. Clemens Willee, CEO of DyStar. "The acquisition is the first step in the expansion of DyStar's product portfolio and means the company will now be able to offer customers a complete package comrprising textile auxiliaries and colorants. DyStar is thus starting to adapt its structure to reflect the dramatic change in market conditions." Alfred Mittelman, managing director of Rotta, will be responsible for the auxiliaries business at DyStar. Rotta supplies pretreatment products, dyeing auxiliaries and products for resin finishing, coating and the treatment of wool and garment finishing. Rotta also markets auxiliaries used in the paper industry to manufacture specialty paper grades.
