Don Mercer Has Died
Chattanooga, TN, January 6, 2025-Don Mercer, 80, former Mohawk executive, died January 4.
Mercer worked for Allied Signal, where he developed Anso 4 carpet fiber, before becoming president of Salem.
He then joined Mohawk in 1984, where David Kolb enlisted him to purchase competitors, growing Mohawk from the 11th largest flooring company at the time to the second. He ultimately served as president of Mohawk's residential business.
He also built the company’s aligned dealer network under the Color Center brand and nurtured relationships with independent retail partners.
