Domotex Names Winners of Area Rug Design Awards

Hannover, DE, January 14, 2019-The winners of the Area Rug Design Awards for 2019 were announced on January 12 at Domotex in Hannover.

The awards are bestowed on outstanding products in eight categories. A total of 24 finalists, three from each category, were picked out from a total of 233 products submitted from 15 countries.

The winners are as follows: Best Studio Artist Design-Create & Connect: The Chameleon Carpet, Atelier Beate von Harten; Best Modern Design Superior-Spartan Plumage, Zollanvari International; Best Modern Design Deluxe-Reggae, Wool & Silk Rugs; Best Transitional Design-Balouch LightPink, Rug Star by Jürgen Dahlmanns; Best Flatweave Design-Bijar, Edelgrund GmbH; Best Collection-Happiness Collection, Wool & Silk Rugs; Best Interior-Magnificent Old-Portland-Style House, Rug Star by Jürgen Dahlmanns; Best Communication-Advertising Campaign, Edelgrund GmbH.

A jury of professionals, chaired by Michael Mandapati, rug expert and founder of Warp & Weft, New York, selected the eight winning rugss on the basis of the design concept and design properties such as color, materials, structure and quality, as well as product sustainability and branding.
