Distributive Trade Sales Rose 0.4% in April, Up 13.7% YOY

Washington, DC, June 15, 2022-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for April was estimated at $1,813.9 billion, up 0.4% from March 2022 and was up 13.7% from April 2021, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for April were estimated at an end-of-month level of $2,345.1 billion, up 1.2% from March 2022 and were up 16.6% from April 2021.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of April was 1.29. The April 2021 ratio was 1.26.
