Distrib. Trade Sales & Manufacturer Shipments Up 3.5% YOY in Jan.

Washington, DC, March 17, 2025-The combined value of distributive trade sales and manufacturers’ shipments for January was estimated at $1,896.5 billion, down 0.8% from December 2024 but up 3.5% from January 2024, according to the Deparment of Labor.

Manufacturers’ and trade inventories for January were estimated at an end-of-month level of $2,591.9 billion, up 0.3% from December 2024 and up 2.3% from January 2024.

The total business inventories/sales ratio based on seasonally adjusted data at the end of January was 1.37. The January 2024 ratio was 1.38.
