David Armitage, Owner of Sellers of America, Has Died

Yorkshire, England, April 10, 2024-David Armitage, 80, chairman of Sellers of America, died in Yorkshire, England on April 6. 

David started with Sellers in 1971 and took over the company in 1984. The Sellers Horizon shearing machine became the industry standard worldwide and particularly in the United States. Along with his son Charlie, he led the buy-back and reformation of the company five years ago, which now is known as Sellers Textile Engineers operating out of Huddersfield, England. 

“David was one of the original players in the carpet industry. Most every manufacturing guy knows of David Armitage over the last 45 years,” says Tom Peeples of the Peeples family of businesses.
