Covestro Acquires DSM's Resins and Functional Materials

Leverkusen, Germany, April 1, 2021–German chemical manufacturer Covestro has announced its acquisition of DSM’s Resins and Functional Materials (RFM).

The move also includes associated businesses DSM Additive Manufacturing, DSM-Niaga and the coating activities of DSM Advanced Solar.

According to a news release, “This acquisition is an important step in the implementation of Covestro’s corporate growth strategy to become a diversified global leader for supply of sustainable resins and additive manufacturing materials. The combination of strong innovation capabilities, sustainable product portfolios as well as complementary technologies and industries offer significant potential to unlock value particularly for you as our customer.”

DSM-Niaga previously partnered with Mohawk on the development of its Airo carpet line.
