Carpetright Makes Pair of Acquisitions

London, England, April 1, 2008–Carpetright Plc. has purchased two flooring retailers, one in the UK and one in The Netherlands.

It acquired Melford Commercial Properties Ltd, the parent company of Carpetworld Manchester Ltd, from Jensen Group A/S. of Denmark, paying $14.2 million cash and assuming $15.5 million in debt. Carpetworld operates from 13 locations and has 85 employees.

Carpetright has also purchased Ben de Graaff Tapijt, an 11-store chain for $12.5 million in cash.
