Carpet One Winter Convention Wrapping Up Today

Manchester, NH, January 17, 2019-The Carpet One Floor & Home winter convention is wrapping up today at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.

This year’s convention theme-Together We Work-highlights the ways that members can work together in the cooperative; how Carpet One Floor & Home management can work for and with the members; and the action items store owners should be taking to stay ahead of the curve.

At the show, it was revealed that revenue from carpet sales increased YOY in 2018 for the organization, but the soft surface category continued to lose share from a mix perspective, as hard surface grew faster. Attendees were generally upbeat, having come off a good year, and the organiation overall grew a little faster than Floor Focus' estimate of the overall market's growth.

The convention closes today with an awards ceremony and event at the Newseum, one of Washington, D.C.’s newest and most sought-after venues.

This convention was the official welcome to new president, John Gilbert. While Gilbert has observed a Carpet One Floor & Home convention, this was his first as the leader of the management team. Listen to today's interview to learn more.
