CARE Names 2023 Persons of the Year

They are the Carpet & Rug Institute president Joe Yarbrough and Shaw’s Wyatt Rollins. Yarbrough is retiring from CRI at the end of May after spending over 50 years in the carpet industry. Rollins is the current chairman of the CARE Board. Both have been actively engaged with CARE on behalf of the industry in recent years, contributing to the success of the California Carpet Stewardship Program and other carpet industry interests.

Yarbrough was named president of the Carpet and Rug Institute in 2014. He went to CRI from Mohawk Industries, where he had served as senior vice president for advanced manufacturing engineering. Earlier in his career, Yarbrough spent six years with Coronet Industries and was later vice president for manufacturing for Aladdin Mills when that company merged with Mohawk in 1994.

In addition to Rollins’ variety of roles at Shaw Industries and CARE board membership, he currently serves as CARE’s chair.

Bob Peoples, CARE Executive Director, said at the awards ceremony, "If it weren't for Joe and Wyatt, I don't know that I'd be standing here right now."
