Bill Kerns Honored by CCA

Denver, CO, January 13, 2026-CCA Global Partners on Tuesday honored outstanding member leadership, legacy and commitment during its ConneXtion convention.

The awards were presented during the general session by CCA leadership, celebrating long-standing dedication, active participation and meaningful impact across the CCA Retail Group.

Inaugural Howard Brodsky Legacy Award

CCA introduced the inaugural Howard Brodsky Legacy Award, honoring a member whose long-term service and leadership have helped shape the cooperative.

The award was presented to Bill Kerns of Kerns Carpet One Floor & Home in Brookfield, Wisconsin.

“This member has attended 72 consecutive CCA conventions-never missed a single one,” Keith Spano, president of CCA Retail Group and Carpet One Floor & Home, said from the stage. “It’s not just dedication; it’s passion. That’s the cooperative spirit in everything that we stand for.”

As Kerns enters retirement, Spano noted that his legacy will continue through the next generation.

“That is legacy,” he said. “Your dedication, Bill, and your family’s dedication to Carpet One and CCA throughout the years is unequivocal.”

The Alan Greenberg Award

The Alan Greenberg Award was presented to Bonnie Fenwick of Carpet One Floor & Home in Jacksonville, Florida.

Named in honor of CCA co-founder Alan Greenberg, the award recognizes members who embody the cooperative spirit through active participation, contributions to the collective, and support of fellow members.

Accepting the award, Fenwick reflected on her family’s role in the business and her company’s long-standing relationship with CCA.

“I want to say thank you very much, but I couldn’t have done it without my father,” Fenwick said. “He had the foresight to go into the flooring business and then become a part of CCA 36 years ago.”

The Wally Hileman Award

The Wally Hileman Award, which honors outstanding new members who embody cooperative values and show exceptional commitment to its growth and success, was presented to Brent Posutsta, of Custom Interiors Carpet on Floor & Home in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Named in memory of Carpet One’s first vice president of membership, Wally Hileman, the award recognizes members who joined the cooperative within the past two years and made an immediate, meaningful impact.
