Bentley Named CARE 2025 Recycler of the Year

Los Angeles, CA, October 23, 2026—Bentley has been named 2025 Recycler of the Year award from the Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) for its work incorporating PC4 (Post-Consumer Calcium Carbonate), a recycled mineral filler recovered from reclaimed carpet, back into the manufacturing process. 

By creating a viable end use for this recovered material, Bentley is helping advance the circular economy and giving old carpet a meaningful second life.  

PC4 can contain contaminants, such as residual carpet fiber or latex after being processed. Once that material reaches the manufacturing line, those impurities can create significant manufacturing challenges, including clogged equipment, inconsistent material flow, and processing difficulties.  

To successfully utilize the post-consumer material, the team had to work through supply chain and technical hurdles, including testing for legacy chemicals and working closely with the supplier to remove any contaminants. Bentley also had to install extra filtering equipment into the manufacturing process to ensure the recycled content could be used while maintaining Bentley’s performance standards.
