Armstrong Wins Patent Dispute With Pergo

Lancaster, PA., Dec 14, 2007–Armstrong World Industries Inc. won a patent lawsuit brought by Pergo Inc. and Pergo (Europe) AB.

Following a trial in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, a jury decided December 13 that mechanically locking laminate flooring panels sold by Armstrong do not infringe Pergo patents. In addition, the jury invalidated all of Pergo’s patent claims against Armstrong.

In 2006, Armstrong’s consolidated net sales totaled approximately $3.4 billion.
