Armstrong & Mohawk Announce Price Increases

Chattanooga, TN, December 11, 2020-Armstrong Flooring and Mohawk Industries have announced price increases.

Armstrong will increase prices up to 9%. The increases, which will take effect January 15, 2021, are attributed to rising costs in transportation, raw materials, and other inputs.

Mohawk announced an 8% increase on all commercial hard surfaces, including LVT, sheet vinyl, rubber, wood and laminate, as well as wall, stair, transitions and trim accessories. In addition, the company is increasing freight rates on broadloom and carpet tile by a minimum of $0.03 per square yard, and hard surface freight drop charges will increase by a minimum of $5.00. Increases are effective January 11, 2021. 

In addition, on the residential side of the business, Mohawk will raise prices 5% to 8%, with a $.05 minimum increase per square foot on resilient plank products and a $0.15 minimum increase per square yard on resilient sheet. In addition, it will increase freight rates on broadloom and carpet tile a minimum of $.03 per square yard and hard surface freight drop charges will increase by a minimum of $5. These increases will be effective with orders and shipments on or after January 11, 2021.
