Ghardaïa, Algeria, March 28--The 41st Edition of the Carpet Festival is scheduled to be held between March 26 and April 1 in Algeria in the presence of the wali of Ghardaïa and representatives of the Tourism Administration of the wilaya.
Liberte Algeria reports that the event, which aims to promote the craft industry, received 15,000 visitors last year, according to Al Bawaba.
Within the framework of the festival, 122 craftsmen coming from 35 different wilayas will display their work including traditional carpets and clothes for a week.
"We expect this year more visitors because this year’s festival coincides with the first week of the spring break for the schools. That makes it possible for many families to come to visit the festival," said Rabah Abdelouahab, the director of tourism of the wilaya.
