2024 Southwest Flooring Market Welcomes 55 Exhibitors to Dallas

Dallas, TX, January 11, 2024-The Southwest Flooring Market wraps up today. Beginning yesterday, the regional event drew 55 exhibitors, including bigger brands like Stanton, Republic and Beauflor.

More than 15 of the exhibitors were first-time participants, including Kährs, which is seeking to establish a greater presence in Texas, reported Kährs Americas president, Sean Brennan.

The products showcased regional preferences. The floor at Kährs’ booth featured wood with pronounced knots and graining, and Johnson Hardwood showcased a 12-inch-wide engineered wood collection (Olympus), for example. Broader trends included a focus on laminate, with both exhibitors and attendees reporting a renewed interest.

With a host of other flooring showcases in town-Shaw and Mohawk both had regional events running concurrently-the Southwest Flooring Market diverged from its standard weekdays in order to give buyers time to hit multiple events, which were somewhat spread out around the Greater Dallas area.

Informal attendance reports on the market’s opening day were mixed, with some participants saying the number of visitors has dwindled over the last few years, and others saying this year was comparable to last. While the first day is usually the busiest, by all accounts, it was the day out of sync with the typical schedule. Marketing manager Sammie Nipper reported that pre-attendance numbers were on track with 2023.

Last year, the event moved from the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium to neighboring Globe Life Field, the Texas Rangers’ home arena, and Nipper said additional changes are in the works for next year.
