StonePeak Ceramics Marks Startup Milestones
Chicago, IL. April 11, 2006--A little more than a year into operation, StonePeak Ceramics, Inc., an American tile company that manufactures and markets high-quality porcelain ceramic tile for residential and commercial use, is marking its first birthday with several milestones. When StonePeak Ceramics debuted at Coverings last year, the company was in the initial stages of developing its distributor network to sell StonePeak-branded products exclusively. Only 12 months later, the company’s distributor network is complete: more than 30 distributors covering more than 100 locations across the country. StonePeak’s nine tile lines are now sold to retailers and dealers from coast to coast. “Distributors are the heart and soul of our sales network. Their support is essential to the success of our business,” said Roberto Franceschin, vice president of sales and distribution for StonePeak Ceramics. “In order to build and sustain strong relationships with our distributors, we are providing them with support programs and other tools to help them stay competitive in the high-end residential and commercial markets.” As part of the company’s core sales program, StonePeak Ceramics offers distributor partners and their customers frequent, thorough and ongoing training on product specs, installation requirements, tile care, sales techniques, and marketing outreach. In addition, knowledgeable front-line managers are trained and empowered to actively partner with distributors and their customers to ensure mutual success. With increased interest in StonePeak products, the company has installed a third production line at its Crossville, TN, factory to bring operations up to full speed. The third line includes a spray dryer and all necessary support. At full capacity, the company is able to produce more than 60 million square feet of tile per year. In response to the popularity of its products, StonePeak recently introduced two new product lines--Stone and Terrain--bringing its total collection to nine porcelain ceramic tile lines. In addition to the Stone collection, the company offers four additional unglazed product lines, including Limestone, Marble, Terrazzo and New Basics. The Terrain series rounds out StonePeak’s glazed tile lines, which also includes the Café, CastleRock, and Slate series. “StonePeak Ceramics is a leader in innovation,” said Barrie Dekker, vice president of national account sales for StonePeak Ceramics. “Our new product lines are a perfect fit for our national accounts and growing customer base.” StonePeak Ceramics manufactures and markets porcelain ceramic tile that incorporate beautiful Italian style with the personality and sensibility that meets American tastes. StonePeak Ceramics is a fully-owned subsidiary of GranitiFiandre, the multi-million dollar porcelain ceramic tile company based in Castellarano, Italy. Its 628,000-square-foot production facility is based in Crossville, Tenn. Company headquarters and showroom are in downtown Chicago.
