RD Weis Expands Into Raised Access Flooring

Port Chester, NY, February 25--RD Weis Companies has formed a partnership with Free Axez USA, an alliance that expands RD Weis' problem-solving capabilities for today¹s office and technology environments. Free Axez is a low-profile, raised flooring wire management system that offers business solutions for environments where data, power, electrical and HVAC services require ever-increasing flexibility and capacity. Free Axez USA is the exclusive North American distributor of Free Axez, a modular, all-steel raised flooring system offering one of the lowest profiles on the market. While Free Axez's all-steel, lightweight, high-strength construction allows it to comfortably bear extreme loads, its flexible construction absorbs impact, producing a comfortable yet solid floor. A cushion sheet under the top plate of the base unit prevents metallic noise while small holes in the surface absorb resonance, two problems commonly associated with traditional raised access floors. Free Axez 40 is 1.6 inches (40 mm) in height, while Free Axez 70 measures 2.75 inches (70 mm) high. Free Axez modules interlock mechanically and are held down by gravity. The cable channels can be opened without any tools, and cables are easily installed and rearranged after the flooring is laid. The appropriate floor covering for either Free Axez system is modular carpet, VCT tiles or wood tiles. The tiles are installed directly onto the base unit. Then, when cabling or wiring needs to be accessed, the tile is merely lifted, and the cable channel opened. New office equipment or system changes can easily be accommodated.
