Karastan Receives Home Magazine’s American Furnitu

High Point, NC, October 19, 2005--The Sumatra rug from Karastan is among 13 products being honored at Home Magazine’s Eleventh Annual American Furniture Awards. Elizabeth Miller, Karastan’s senior vp of style & design, will accept the award on behalf of the brand at a reception this evening, at the International Home Furnishings Market. Karastan is the only floor covering company to receive recognition this year. It previously had been honored with this same award eight years ago. The exotic super-sized floral patterned Sumatra is inspired by hand printed Indonesian batik fabrics and embodies Karastan’s redefinition of “traditional.” Created from a robust palette of colors, the Sumatra is a timelessly fashionable design. Constructed of Karastan’s Eversoft nylon, it is easy to care for and extremely durable. “We are thrilled to accept this award from Home,” said Miller. “It’s rewarding for all of us at Karastan to be applauded for innovative design and dedication to style.” In addition to the Awards Ceremony, the November issue of Home will salute each of the winning designs.
