Great Floors Celebrating 50 Years of Business

Coeur D’alene, ID, February 25, 2021-Idaho-based commercial and residential flooring and interior company Great Floors is celebrating a significant milestone this year: a half century in business.

Great Floors reduces dependence on any one sales channel by working in commercial, builder, multi-family and retail market segments. Doug Chadderdon, president and CEO, calls this approach a “four-legged stool strategy.”

While Great Floors started in the flooring business in 1971, today the company provides commercial and residential customers with flooring as well as other home products ranging from countertops to window treatments and cabinets.

One thing that hasn’t changed in the company’s semicentennial run, is its North Idaho roots. Chadderdon’s parents, Keith and Marge Chadderdon, started the company as a road show traveling through Idaho and Montana. Five decades later, while the majority of the company’s 21 stores are located in neighboring Washington state and Montana, Great Floors corporate offices remain in Coeur d’Alene, only one block from the site of the company’s first showroom.
