Daltile Launches Exteriors Collection

Dallas, TX, August 7, 2007--Finding the perfect tile for patios, loggias, pool decks and other outdoor spaces has gotten a little easier, thanks to Daltile’s new exteriors collection.  The company, America’s largest manufacturer and distributor of tile and natural stone, has grouped more than sixty outdoor-appropriate natural stone and porcelain tile products into its new Exteriors collection to help designers and homeowners pinpoint which tiles will work best for their outdoor spaces.  To kickoff the Exteriors collection, Daltile has also introduced two new ColorBody porcelain tile products – Willow Canyon and Castanea – as well as seven new natural stone products, ranging from tumbled stone pavers and split-face travertine to slate quartzite and engineered stone.

“Homeowners are redefining their living spaces to include outdoor ‘rooms.’ Our new exterior products bring livability and functionality to these great outdoor spaces,” said Matthew Kahny, Daltile’s executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Each product within the exteriors collection includes easy-to-read, quick-reference icons (a snowflake and a sunshine) that indicate the product’s appropriate outdoor uses, including all outdoor conditions or if limited to non-freezing conditions.

New Product Introductions:

Willow Canyon – ColorBody Porcelain Tile

Willow Canyon is a versatile ColorBody porcelain tile that bears a striking resemblance to Quartzite stone and is ideal for any number of sophisticated indoor and outdoor spaces.  The product, which features a tasteful and cultivated finish, is available in two natural colors – Mesa Sunset and Cliffside – with extreme random color shade and texture variation.  The colors coordinate well with decorative accents from Daltile’s natural stone collections.

Four field tile sizes (6”x 6”, 12”x 12”, 12”x 18” and 18”x 18”) allow for a variety of creative patterns, including alternating vertical, multi-pinwheel, hopscotch and modular rectangle.  The trim package includes a 3”x 12” bullnose, 6”x 12” cove base and 1”x 6” cove base outcorner.

Willow Canyon is recommended for all interior and exterior applications, including residential and commercial outdoor patios, pool decks and walls.

Castanea – ColorBody Porcelain Tile

Castanea is a ColorBody porcelain tile that takes its inspiration from the pathways of ancient Europe. The collection’s four elegant, earthen colors (Luserna, Serena, Porfido and Tufo) feature weathered, textured surfaces, as well as medium to high color variation within each tile.  Five varied field tile sizes (5 ¼”x 5 ¼”, 5 ¼”x 10 ½”, 2 ½”x 5 ¼”, 10 ½”x 10 ½” and 10 ½”x 15 ½”) allow for sophisticated pattern options.

A 22”x 43” Rasogne decorative pattern, which is available in a universal color blend of Luserna, Serena and Porfido colors, adds a touch of European charm to outdoor spaces.  Bullnose and stair cap trim pieces complete the collection and allow for clean, finished looks.

Castanea is recommended for all interior and exterior applications, including residential and commercial outdoor patios, pool decks and walls.

Natural Stone Additions:

Daltile’s natural stone offerings have been expanded to include a variety of sophisticated and functional natural stones, each perfect for any exterior installation.  New additions include:

Tumbled Stone Pavers – Natural stone pavers, available in Mediterranean Ivory, Sienna Gold and Anchera, are designed to create pure, traditional looks on outdoor patios, pool decks and floors.  The tumbled pavers come in three modular sizes – 6” x 6”, 6”x 12” and 12”x 12”.  Pool copying is also available in the three colors in 12”x 12” and 12”x 24” sizes.

Split-Face Travertine - A larger size, split-face travertine is available in three colors (Mediterranean Ivory, Sienna Gold and Anchera) in a 4”x 12” size, along with a 4”x 6” split-face corner.  The split-face travertine creates a natural texture for any exterior wall application, including fireplaces and backsplashes.

Tumbled Pebbles – Tumbled natural stone pebbles lend the natural, rustic look to any application with its smooth rocks and stones pebbles of varying sizes and shapes.  The ¾-inch thick pebbles are random in shape and come mesh-mounted for easy installation in any residential or commercial application.

Slate Quartzite – With a surface that shimmers, the new Slate Quartzite stone boasts dramatic color variation and natural clefting.  The new stone is available in two colors (Sunflower and Cypress) and two sizes – a 15”x 15” square and random-sized,  loose flagstone pieces.  Both are available in thick and thin thicknesses.

Slate Stacked Stone – Stacked Stone is a series of visually rich quartzite stones that brings a glistening appearance and a warm and vibrant look to any exterior wall.  Available in three colors (Beijing Green, Shanghai Rust and Golden Sun), the stone sizes are random, just as they’re found in nature.  They come in easy-to-install, pre-mounted 7”x 16” sheets.

Limestone Coral Mist – Limestone Coral Mist is an exotic stone, accented with ocean shells and coral fossils, as well as a brushed finish that lends easy elegance to any interior area or covered patio walls and floors (in non-freezing climates only).  Coral Mist comes in four sizes (6”x 6”, 6”x 12”, 12”x 12” and 18”x 18”) that can be mixed-and-matched to create a variety of patterns.  Pool coping is also available in 12”x 12” and 12”x24” sizes to complete a luxuriously designed pool.

Engineered Stone – This terrazzo-look tile is available in a wide variety of colors, (Salt & Pepper, Blanco, Dovetail, Arctic, Almond, Sand Dollar, Speckled Tan, Harvest Gold, Antique Gold, Evergreen, Sterling, Olive and Onyx) and two sizes – 16”x 16” and 24”x 24”. Its antiqued finish makes engineered stone perfect for any exterior application.
