Coverings 2007 Adds Two Appreciation Night Parties

Alexandria, VA, February 28, 2007--With Coverings 2007 in the Windy City this year, a whole new spin is being added to Appreciation Night parties, taking full advantage of the mega entertainment and culture that Chicago has to offer.

Historically a series of several parties have been hosted simultaneously for the key business segments comprising the 33,000 Coverings attendees—dealers, distributors, retailers, installers, contractors, fabricators, builders, remodelers, architects and interior designers.

This year, however, on consecutive evenings there will be two themed evenings devoted to Coverings visitors. But each promises to be a blockbuster, with free food and drink, stellar entertainment, plus the opportunity to extend the networking experience from the Coverings show floor to the more intimate and relaxed atmosphere of the party scene. It’s consensus that often some of the best business connections at Coverings are made at the after hours events.

Exclusively For the A+D Community on Wednesday, April 18…
The first of the two appreciation night events is Wednesday, April 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., as Interior Design magazine joins with Coverings to co-host
“Un-Coverings: The After-Hours Party for A+D,” at the celebrated Chicago Illuminating Company.
“This marks the first time that Interior Design has played a significant sponsorship role at Coverings,” said Tamara Christian, CEO of National Trade Productions, which produces the annual tile and stone exposition and conference. “We are delighted they’ve partnered with us for this particular event which is valued for its social and business networking as much as any of the Coverings programming. Together we’re working to make this a first class, bar-raising occasion that no A+D professional will want to miss.”
All registered architects, interior designers, kitchen and bath designers, and decorators are invited to attend the bash and must have verified Coverings badges in order to gain entrance. Admission is free, and shuttle service will be provided from McCormick Place to the Chicago Illuminating Company starting at 5:30 p.m.

Taking Over The House of Blues on Thursday, April 19…
The iconic House of Blues will be packed wall-to-wall and rafter-to-ceiling on Thursday, April 19, from 6 until 9 p.m. as Appreciation Night celebrates the dealers, distributors, retailers, installers, contractors, fabricators, builders and remodelers who attend Coverings 2007. Reserved exclusively for Coverings during those after-show hours that evening, the House of Blues extravaganza will include free food, drinks and, of course, the inimitable entertainment that helped put Chicago and its sultry and irreverent musical style on the map. Headlining that night will be the Afrodisiacs, a high-energy dance cover band.

“House of Blues tops just about everyone’s list for Chicago entertainment, so we were compelled to book this venue for our guests and combine the Appreciation Nights enabling as many as possible to enjoy this legendary experience,” explained Christian.

The House of Blues bash is being co-hosted by Coverings together with Tile Council of North America, Tile of Spain and Turkish Ceramics. Shuttle service will be provided from McCormick place beginning at 6:00 pm.
